Raymond FROST, Republican of Middle Fork township, assumed his duties Wednesday as a member of the board of supervisors for a three-year term. He succeeds Dick BARNES, who had served since January 12, 1952, afater being appointed to fill the vacancy caused by the death of D. L. SMITHSON.

New postage rates and fees become effective Monday, January 7. First class letters, per ounce, will require five-cent instead of four-cent stamps; postal cards will advance from three cents to four cents.

The Fennema Implement Company in Mount Ayr will operate under the joint management of Herman FENNEMA and Glen KING, effective January 1, 1963, announcement of which is made in an advertisement in this issue. The business was established by Mr. FENNEMA in 1945. FENNEMA and KING have been partners in the ownership of the Afton Implement Compnay since 1950.

Dean STUCK, who had served as principal of the Coon Rapids high school for the past one and a half years, has been elected superintendent of the same school system to fill a vacany. He assumed the duties of his new position on January 1. The elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo G. STUCK of this city, Dean is a graduate of the Mount Ayr high school. His wife is the former Mary Jane EDDY, daughter of J. H. EDDY of Mount Ayr and the late Mrs. EDDY.
