Jane WHITMORE of Clearfield has had her poem selected out of 5,584 entries to be put in the Iowa Poetry Association's anthology Lyrical Iowa for 1995. Since only 327 entries are published statewide, this is a big honor. Look for her entry in the magazine which will be celebrating its 50th year anniversary this year.

Mount Ayr Community high school is anticipating the visit of a foreign exchange student from Norway. Kjartan HELLE, 17, will be attending the high school during his stay with Rick and Marilyn HAWKINS and their sons. He enjoys playing guitar, spending time with friends and outdoor activities. Some day, he hopes to be an aircraft controller.
