A former Mount Ayrian, Dan ROE, presently of Pittsburg, KS, has been named as superintendent of the Central Clinton
Community school district, effective July 1. ROE and his wife, the former Marla Kay EURITT, were reared in Mount
Ayr and graduated from Mount Ayr Community schools. ROE is the son of Robert and Beatrice ROE of Mount Ayr.
A former Ringgold County Hospital administrator was recently honored on his retirement after 12 years as administrator
of the Adair County Memorial Hospital at Greenfield. Joe RIVERA, administrator of the Greenfield hospital since 1984,
was honored on his retirement April 15, 1996, which was also his 63rd birthday. He and his wife, Barbara, will be
retiring to Bridgewater, where they have their home.
A former Mount Ayr resident is drummer in a rock band which is recording its first full-length CD. Matt VanMETER, son
of Rick and Darlene VanMETER of Mount Ayr, is drummer for the band "Inbred." The band, made up of southern Iowa and
northern Missouri musicians, works out of Des Moines.
A Mount Ayr resident reappointed to a state board by Governor Terry Branstad has been confirmed by the Iowa Senate. Catherine
WARD will continue to serve on the Board of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences Examiners.
