Kasey Dredge, Mount Ayr Record-News

David L. BARNES, who has accepted a call to the pastorate of the First Christian Church in Mount Ayr, will deliver his first message to the congregation of Sunday, July 5.

Mrs. Marea SHEIL, who retired June 1 after twenty-five years of service of the Maloy postoffice, was honored at an Open House held Sunday.

Gene LESAN, a member of the Benton Bearcats 4-H Club, showed the champion 4-H lamb at the Statewide Quality Lamb Day held June 25 at the state fairgrounds in Des Moines. Gene, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob LESAN of Benton, was one of three exhibitors from Ringgold county in the field of over 100 entires with his 105-pound Suffolk-Hampshire. Other local entries were Craig ELLIOTT and Dick ELLIOTT, members of the same 4-H club.

Democrats, who met in convention Friday morning and night in the court house assembly room in Mount Ayr, elected eighteen delegates, each of whom will cast a half a vote at the state convention.

Thirteen delegates to the Republican state convention to be held July 29, in Des Moines, were elected at the Ringgold county Republican convention held Friday morning in the court room of the court house in Mount Ayr. They are Jack ELLIOTT, E. M. WATSON, Harvey LANDIS, Maurice HANSON, Virgil BARNES, John F. DENHART, Albert L. DRAKE, Matthew BEVINGTON, Earl REYNOLDS Jr., Bill RISSLER, Lyle DULANY, L. W.
