Kasey Dredge, Mount Ayr Record-News

Several of the stained glass windows of the Mount Ayr Presbyterian Church were removed Tuesday. The windows will be reconditioned by a stained glass shop and then will be placed in the new United Baptist-Presbyterian Church being built west of Mount Ayr. The windows will be used in the interior of the new church building. The fate of the old Presbyterian church building has not been completely determined.

Bowling season for the Mount Ayr Community Raider and Raiderette bowlers is set to kick off her Friday when the teams host Lenox and Central Decatur in action at Majestic Lanes.

Three Ringgold County Supportive Services clients attended the state bowling competition in Des Moines on November 20. Josh EGLY placed fifth, Martha WILT placed first and Joe HALEY placed third.

David RICHARDS, Mount Ayr postmaster, presented Dan SHEIL a certificate of appreciation for the 31 years of dedication to the United States. SHEIL spent four years in the Navy, one year on sick leave and 26 years with the the post office in Mount Ayr. Twenty-six years, 12 miles a day, and 14 dog bites later, SHEIL will miss his route and the people on his route.
