School began Monday, August 29 in the Mount Ayr, Diagonal, Grand Valley and Clearfield Commnity school districts.
Pictured on the front page of this issue are Shirley HIGHTSHOE and her niece, Hilary SWANK, one of the stars of the
movie "The Next Karate Kid" during SWANK'S visit with relatives in the Ringgold county area. Her parents are county
natives and SWANK was here for a CLOUGH family reunion.
Rhonda SOBOTKA, daughter of David and Lois Anne SOBOTKA of Diagonal, and Michael LOHMANN of Des Moines, son of Herbert
and Dolores LOHMANN of West Des Moines, were married June 4 at Easton Place United Methodist Church in Des Moines.
Jennifer KLINDT, daughter of Norm and Kathy STAMMER of Sun Valley Lake near Ellston, and Doug and Linda KLINDT of Lenexa, KS,
and Christopher DENNIS, son of Ray and Susan DAHLMAN and the late Herb DENNIS of Altoona, were married at the Church of the
Land at Living History Farms in Urbandale on May 7.
