DAVID LEE LYNCH
David Lee LYNCH was drafted and reported for duty on January 24, 1968. He was assigned in June to the 101st Airborne Division
"Screaming Eagles" as an infantryman and went to Vietnam.
David was promoted to E/5 in February of 1969. He and his men
took part in one of the major battles of the Vietnam War - Hamburger Hill - where David was wounded and was awarded the
David had two R&Rs while overseas, one in Taiwan and the second in Australia as a guest of the Jaycees
David was home after 14-months of service on September 1, 1969. David was awarded commendation medals for 25 air assaults
on landing zones under enemy fire and on the front line for more than eight months. He was also awarded the Bronze
Star and his company was awarded the President's Citation for their involvment in the Hamburger Hill Battle.
