SERVICE NEWS ~ TIMOTHY T. SICKELS

Tec. Sergeant Timothy SICKELS was deployed March 12 from the Eielson Air Force base in Fairbands, AK. He is in Kuwait near the Kuwait city airport doing customs. He is inspecting A-1 tanks, all kinds of trucks and a great number of Humvees, removing sand and other weatherized materials and washing them.

SICKELS is a 1985 graduate of Creston high school and is married to Jymi BLAKE and has a 19-year-old daughter, Tarah, and a son, Tyson, 16-years-old who are in North Pole, AK.

Tec. Sgt. Timothy enlisted in May 1986. His parents are Jack and Reta SICKELS of Creston. Grandparents are Phyllis DUKES and Edna SICKELS of Mount Ayr.

His assignment is for six months. His address is: Timothy T. SICKELS, 887 EFSF, Camp Arifjan, APO AE 09366.

Sickels retires from Air Force service

Technical Sergeant Timothy T. SICKELS, son of Jack and Reta SICKELS of Creston, recently retired after 20 years of service in the United States Air Force. SICKELS is the grandson of Phyllis DUKES and Edna SICKELS, both of Mount Ayr.

SICKELS is a 1985 graduate of Creston high school and completed the Air Force Noncommissioned Officer Leadership School at Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota.

In 2004 he graduated from the Pacific Command Noncommissioned Officer Academy at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska and in 2006 received his association degree in criminal justice.

He was named officer of the year while serving in Buechel, Germany, and served on an air base in Kuwait from March through September 2004.

His parents, as well as his sister Mindy SKARDA and sister Lisa HAGLE and daughter Sophie of Creston, attended SICKELS' retirement ceremony at Minot Air Force Base in Minot, D.D.

SICKELS lives in North Pole, AK, with his wife, Jyumi, his daughter Tara, and son, Tyson.
