SERVICE NEWS
Gourley graduates from Marine training

Justin J. GOURLEY was one of 257 Marine Corps officers who graduated TBS (The Basic School) in Quantico, VA on Monday, July 2.

The Basic School is a six-month officer training course held only for Marine Corps officers. Second Lieutenant GOURLEY is the son of David and Jolene GOURLEY of Mount Ayr.

A 1998 graduate of MACHS, he received a bachelor's degree in sociology with a minor in criminology from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.

Since his graduation from college in 2002, 2nd Lt. GOURLEY worked in the Des Moines area and attended Officer Candidate School for the Marine Corps in the fall of 2006.

He is now attending a six-month Communications Information Systems Officer Course. Upon gradution 2nd Lieutenant GOURLEY will be stationed in Camp Pendleton, CA near San Diego as part of the First Marine Division.
