John Faust Honored

A special feature of the July 4 activities in Mount Ayr Friday was the recognition of John FAUST, possible the oldest World War II veteran in the state and the oldest living World War II Seabee in the United States. FAUST, who is 84, has been a member of the Ringgold Post 172 of the American Legion for 34 years and was honored with a presentation by the Legion post and with a letter from Iowa Governor Robert Ray.

NOTE: John Edward FAUST was born on February 20, 1896, and died at age 90 on April 9, 1986. He was interred at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr.
