WHEN LIFE WAS NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT

Decatur County Journal
Leon, Decatur County, Iowa
Thursday, November 6, 1913

The supreme court of Iowa has just decided that one farmer cannot compel another to restrain his poultry from running at large, no matter if they are injuring his crops. Poultry possesses a natural right to run at large and there is no statute abridging that right.

Decatur County Journal
Leon, Decatur County, Iowa
Thursday, November 6, 1913

The orchards at the Iowa insane hospital at Clarinda produced this year between 6,000 and 7,000 bushels of fine apples. The state evidently takes a little better care of its fruit than some of the Iowa farmers.

Transcriptions by Nancee (McMurtrey) Seifert, 2010
