Higday Reunion 2009

On Saturday, June 27, 2009, the annual HIGDAY reunion was held at the Iowa Roadhouse in Mount Ayr. Relatives met at approximately 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. for lunch.

Visiting with relatives while eating lunch and during the afternoon was enjoyed by all who attended. Linda (VIRDEN) FOLAND welcomed all who attended and read a humorous story of the Girl & Boy Potatoes. A special prize was given to Deborah HALEY, who came the farthest from Napa, CA, and a special prize was given to Rosalie DRAPER, who was the oldest "HIGDAY" relative in attendance. Rosalie also had four daughters, Teresa SCOVEL, Donna ROUSH, Becky LOFTUS and Sonya LAWSON, and one son, Val DRAPER, in attendance.

Time was spent visiting, taking pictures and selecting white elephant gifts before leaving for home.

Many relatives unable to attend were missed but it was also great to see others who had not attended recently. Due to health reasons, Jack and Pat HIGDAY were unable to attend, as Jack has been the person who sent out the invitations.

Those in attendance were Bob and Maggie HIGDAY, Jeanette LEWELLIN and grandson Drake GABLER, Wallace and Teresa SCOVEL, Donna ROUSH, Rosalie DRAPER, Becky LOFTUS, all of Des Moines;

Ken and Melba TAYLOR and Ann TAYLOR of Grand River; Vicki JACKSON of Winterset; Sandra CAMPBELL of Kellerton; Betty Jean FUGATE of Carlisle; Sonya LAWSON of Norwalk; Linda and Cherie FOLAND of Osceola; Deborah HALEY of Napa, CA;

Kimberly McKINNON, Emily McKINNON and Scan McKINNON of Dallas, GA; LeRoy and Kay PETERSON of Lincoln, NE and Val and Linda DRAPER of Watertown, SD.
