The 30th CALDWELL reunion was held Sunday, August 3, 2008, at the Waubonsie Center in Benton. There were 29 people in attendance representing the families of Burr CALDWELL, Glen CALDWELL and Irma CALDWELL SMITH.

After a blessing and a bounteous meal, even though they were small in numbers this year, everyone had a good time of reminiscing. And, of course, aw usual there was lots of picture taking and visiting. Special entertainment was provided by Quazi, a parrot owned by Jacque SPARKS.

One new birth was announced, Cooper William JOHNSTON was born January 22, 2007 to Josh and Autumn. Grandmother is Julie CALDWELL and great-grandfather is Ron CALDWELL Also, on death was reported. Allan W. ELLIOTT, age 61, of Manhattan, KS on July 19, 2008. Allan was the son of Frankand Junella SMITH ELLIOTT and the grandson of Irma SMITH.

Louella YOUNG and Burl STILL held the honor of being the eldest woman and man in attendance. Tegan HILL was the youngest member in attendance. It was almost a tie in who came the farthest distance. Jacque SPARKS from LaQuinta, CA and Chris STREEVER from Florida.

Those attending from Mount Ayr and vicinity were Becky and Mary CALDWELL, Karen TAYLOR, Monica PETERSON, Jenni, Nathan, Braxton and Tegan HILL, Burl STULL, Louella YOUNG of Creston and Gerry and Bonnie YOUNG of Tingley.

From the Des Moines area, Jack and Linda WEESE, Julie CALDWELL, Ron CALDWELL and Ed and Phyllis BRYAN;

From Missouri, Jason and Nikki BAKER of Eagleville, Carmetta BRENNON of Excelsor Springs, Debra KNIGHT of Amsterdam, Jan JONES of Kansas City and Lisa CALDWELL of Raytown.

Also, Josh, Autumn and Cooper JOHNSON of Albia; Jacque SPARKS and Quazi of LaQuinta, CA; and, Chris STREEVER of Florida.

Nex year's reunion will be at the same place on August 2, 2009.
