GREATER THINGS
(Melody, Finlandia)
Lord Jesus Christ, Our faith looks up to Thee,
In Thee we trust. Thou art our way, our light.
Without Thy love the World would loveless be
And so our path would be a starless night.
Now heav'n above is bright, we knew the way,
Let each tomorrow be a blessed day!

When Thou art near, we have no foes to fear;
Thou art our shield, Thy hand shall lead us on,
The distant goal shall seem so very near.
love and serve as days go one by one;
We are Thy hands. We are Thy feet, Thy voice
And as we serve, we will always rejoice.

Help us to see the greater things, dear Lord,
Abiding things, not simply clu7Lps of clay.
The language, Lord, that love knows word for word,
Do teach us now, as we are on our way.
Then shall our faith, and love abide
When Christ Himself is ward.ag at our side.

The Capping Ceremony

Lighted Candles, symbolizing the Lamp of
Florence Nightingale, are given the new
nurses by Christine Jensen, the Director
of the School of Nursing. The Lamp from
which the candles are lighted is a replica
of the original lamp used by Florence
Nightingale in the Barracks Hospital where
she cared for the Soldiers in the Crimeon.
From it's use comes her title "The
Lady of the Lamp "

Ask God to give thee skill
In comfor's art
That thou may'st consecrated be
And set apart
Unto a Life of sympathy
For heavy is the weight of ill
In every heart
And comforters are needed nuch
Of Christ-like touch.
