Simon Casady

CASADY, SIMON — Cashier of the Des Moines Bank. Is the son of P.M. and Augusta Casady, both of whom since 1846 have been residents of Des Moines. He was born on the 16th day of June, 1852. He commenced his banking experience in the National State Bank. In July, 1875, the Des Moines Bank was organized, and he was placed in charge as cashier, and has proved himself a courteous and safe financier for one so young in years. He was married June 1, 1880, to Miss S. C. Griffiths, daughter of J. M. Griffiths, also an early settler of Des Moines; and the subject of this sketch and his wife are the first couple married who were born and raised in this city.
