Levi J. Brown

BROWN, LEVI J. - Attorney, is a native of Portage county, Ohio, and was born on the 18th day of May, 1838. His early life was spent on a farm. He had the advantages of a common school education, supplemented by attendance at Hiram College. In 1860 he entered the State University of Michigan, at Ann Arbor, and was graduated from the literary and law department. In 1865 his inclination as well as good judgment led him to settle in this city, where he was for a time associated with Judge Mitchell. In 1867 he formed a partnership with C. A. Dudley, and they are the oldest legal firm in the city. Impelled by worthy ambition, he has made his way in the world and has achieved an enviable position in the profession. He was united in marriage with Miss Lizzie Block, 1870. She is a native of Cleveland, Ohio.
