Garfield No. 1 one-room country school house, built 1884

"....this school has been restored and is maintained as an original country school. It is located on the Kingsley-Pierson school grounds in Kingsley. Students studying Iowa history attend classes at the school. The school is open on July 4th and during the Kingsley Augustfest celebration." Quote from Iowa's Country Schools Landmarks of Learning.

Garfield No. 1 teacher, Miss Angela Fidler: 1931-1933

Isn't she lovely? Angela Fidler was born in Pierson, IA, on 3 Aug 1913. She taught school for a number of years. She remained single until her death on 22 Jan 1994.
