Jonathan & Agness (Knewstubb) Alderson

The Aldersons came to Plymouth county approx. 1882 and settled in Elgin township where they lived out their lives together. *See above Alderson place panoramic pic -- Seney, Iowa, April 8, 1928.

Mr. Alderson engaged in farming and later lived in Seney, where he conducted a general merchandise store and was postmaster for several years. He was a leading figure in the community and enjoyed the trust and confidence of all who knew him and took a live interest in affairs. He was a member of the Masonic fraternity, joining the organization when a young man.

Jonathan and Agnes had five children, four of which lived into adulthood. Their last child, Ruth Leone, was born 11 Aug 1895 at Seney, Iowa, and died just over two years later on 24 Oct 1897.
