James Harvey Woolworth A publication (book) labeled "Wisconsin Volunteers"

"War of the Rebellion" 1861--1865, arranged alphabetically

identifies James H. Woolworth as a private in Company "A",

11th Infantry. Shown on page 1122, published by the state,

at Madison, Wisconsin, Democratic Printing Company, 1914.

 


 

 


On the 19th of February, 1907, James Harvey Woolworth signed and
submitted "Declaration for Pension". On this declaration he states that he is
63 years of age and a resident of Sioux City, Woodbury County,
Iowa. That he was enrolled at Madison, Wisconsin under the name of James
H. Woolworth on the 10th of September, 1861 as a private in Co. "A" of the
11th Wisconsin Infantry. He further states that he was born on 23 May,
1843 at Pittstown, New York. That he was mustered out of the service on
Sept 4, 1865, at Mobile, Alabama. He also states that since his discharge from the
service he has lived in Arena, Iowa County, Wisconsin for eight years, then
James, Plymouth County, Iowa for twenty six years, and then in Sioux City,
Iowa for the past eight years. He also states that at the time of his
signing this Declaration, his address in Sioux City was 4430 Lincoln Ave.
