Joseph G. Easton married Mona King

JOE EASTON FAMILY

Joe Easton was born in 1870 in Dorset, England.  As a boy of 19, he came to Plymouth County and worked as a hired hand for some of the older English settlers.

He married Mona King and they farmed near the Broken Kettle, not far from Akron.  In 1905, they moved south of Merrill to a farm.  Later, they had a two-day sale and moved to Vancouver, Canada, and from there to Elma, Washington, where he passed away in October 1955.  His wife passed away six months later.  Both were brought back to Merrill and buried in the Hill-Side Cemetery.

To this union four sons and four daughters were born:  James A., who married Eva Woods; Elvin (deceased) was married to Frances Schafer; Roger married Elsie Johnson; Richard (passed away when four years old); Ellen married Eldon Lake; Mabel married Charles Howe; Catherine married William Schneider; and Bessie married Jim Tucker.
