WEDDING AT REMSEN

Remsen Bell-Enterprise: The marriage of Miss Elizabeth Kirpes, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Nick Kirpes, and Nicholas Penning, son of Mr. and Mrs. George
Penning, of Granville, was solemnized in St. Mary's Catholic church here
Tuesday morning at 8 o'clock. Rev. James Greteman read the nuptial mass, and
many friends and relatives of the young couple were present.

The attendants were Miss Rose Krell, of Wilmont, Minn., a cousin of the
bride, and Vincent Penning, of Granville, a brother of the groom.

The bride appeared in an elegant gown of white brocaded flat crepe with
pearl trimming, and wore a veil. She carried a shower bouquet of white
lilies, roses, carnations, and lilies of the valley. Her maid of honor wore
a gown of blue Canton crepe and carried white carnations.

Immediately after the ceremony the bridal party repaired to the home of the
bride's parents northeast of town, where friends and relatives were
entertained during the day. A splendid wedding dinner was served at noon.
The reception and dining halls were tastily decorated in the bride's colors,
blue and white, which also formed pretty decorations at the table.

Mr. and Mrs. Penning departed yesterday morning on a honeymoon trip to
Dubuque and other eastern Iowa points. They are expected to return in about
two weeks, after which they will move to a farm near Dell Rapids, S.D.,
owned by the groom's father.
