At the time of her death, she was a resident of Elm Heights Nursing Facility. She lived 76 years, 6 months and 7 days.

Linda and her eight siblings attended the Imogene Public School through the 8th grade. She completed her high school education at Farragut Community School in 1959 and there met her future husband, Henry “Doc” Bonnes.

Upon Doc’s graduation in 1966, the couple moved with their young son, Todd, to Farragut so that Doc could set up practice. This gave her the flexibility to mold her young brood and provided her access to all the Farragut politics and gossip. During the farm crisis of the 1980s, Linda bravely decided to finish her education at Buena Vista University’s satellite campus in Clarinda. She graduated in 1990 with her Bachelor’s of Education. She found great joy in her first job at the Farragut Elementary as a 2nd/3rd grade combination teacher and worked long hours to find creative ways to reach each of her students. She then moved on to the next phase of her career and dedicated her life to assisting individuals with disabilities at Nishna Productions. During her years at Nishna Productions, she held several positions. In 2009, after 17 years, Linda retired from Nishna Productions as the Director of Residential Services.

In addition to working, Linda was very involved in the community and supporting her children in every aspect of their lives. Linda was always on the sidelines cheering and active helping behind the scenes. She attended athletic, academic, pageantry, music, 4-H, and theatre events and dedicated her time to ensure her children became well-rounded individuals. In the community, Linda worked with the American Red Cross, Farragut Community Club, Bridge Club, Garden Club, Pinochle Club, 4-H, and served on Farragut City Council. She passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Elm Heights Nursing Home in Shenandoah, Iowa where she was in Hospice Care, as a result of ovarian cancer.

Joyce was raised in Lamoni, Iowa and graduated from Lamoni High School. Joyce attended Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa for 2 years, and received her B.S. degree in Home Economics Education from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. While she was in graduate school at Iowa State studying Historic Textiles, she met her future husband, Tim who was completing his degree at Iowa State also. They were married in Lamoni, Iowa on August 8, 1971. To their union, two sons were born: Chad Byron and Jonathan Clarence.

Her family was always her most important focus. She enjoyed spending time in the kitchen baking and preparing meals for her family and their friends. She was a stay-at-home Mom while her children were in school, a den mother for their cub scouting years, and a Sports Mom for all the various sports the boys played.

Joyce was a natural-born teacher. She loved teaching and her students. She began her teaching career in Yutan, Nebraska. When Tim and Joyce moved their family to Wisconsin, she continued her education earning a Master's Degree in Historic Environments from the University of Wisconsin, in Madison, Wisconsin. She taught design at the University of Wisconsin and became a Licensed Interior Designer and member of the American Society of Interior Designers. Following Tim and Joyce's return to their family farm near Randolph, Iowa in 2000, Joyce renewed her teaching credentials to enable her to return to the classroom and again fulfill her calling as teacher. Joyce taught Family Consumer Science at Stanton, Iowa and at Shenandoah, Iowa. Her goal was to teach until she was 70. Her disease interfered with this goal, cutting it shorter than she wanted. She loved teaching and cared deeply for her students. These final years of classroom work were, for her, the sugar at the bottom of her cup.

McClish, Wesley - Wesley McClish Sr. was born March 1st 1950 in Des Moines, Iowa to Bernic (Yaw) and Lee McClish. Wes had a tough childhood being the oldest boy of 5 siblings. When their dad left he was the one to help his mom support everyone. Therefore, Wes left the house at an early age of 15 and started his career and love for carpentry work. He ended up in Clarinda working for Better Built Homes also known later as Page and Hill. He got on the welding crew helping build Eaton Corporation in Shenandoah which opened in 1971. While working there he told a guy working with him he wanted a horse. This guy introduced him to the Bob and Edna Barr Farm and they took him in as their own son. He looked up to them as parents. This was the start of a whole new family for Wes with the whole Barr family and his love for horses, which has lasted for 50 years.
When the economy crashed in Southwest Iowa in the early 80’s. He packed up his family and off to Houston, Texas they went. From there as the economy continued to swing through different parts of the country, Wes went to where the economy was good building high rise condos, apartment complexes, hotels and houses in just about every state in the US. A lot of the time his brother John and his family were along with the carpentry moving state to state.
As Wes always made trips back to Iowa to check on the Barr gang and Bob’s many horses. 2002 was time for another trip to Iowa as Edna was not well from cancer. He was finally ready to settle back into Clarinda after meeting Denise. Wes and Denise were married in August of 2008. Until 6 years ago he gave up the carpentry and started detailing cars owning the Car Groom. After being diagnosed with cancer in October 2016 and several battles in February 2018 he began his carpentry again on the small scale with doll houses and barns which helped take up time of being in the house. His courageous battle with cancer ended on April 28, 2018, letting him join his sons Wesley McClish Jr. and Shane Marsh; parents Bernic and Lee, parents Bob and Edna Barr, brother John McClish (February 2016) and father in-law Charles Hughes (January 2016).
He is survived by his wife Denise; sons Chris Gorman and Phillip (Aundrea) McClish; grandchildren Susanna, Austin, Hailey, Whyatt, Bentley, Mylia and Able; mother in-law Norma Hughes; brother in-laws Terry (April) Hughes, Bradley (Wanda) Hughes and Shawn (Kendra) Hughes; sisters in-law Rosanne (Zachary) Cavin and Theresa McClish; brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, many friends and relatives.

Parker, Gage E. - Gage E Parker, world traveler, voracious reader, lover of the arts and member of the greatest generation died, Saturday, April 21, 2018 in Lincoln, NE. Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, Gage had an idyllic childhood in Shenandoah IA. Charlie and Gladys Gage Parker showered their only child with love, wisdom and uncommon common sense.

Gage graduated early from Shenandoah High School to enroll at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. He was soon drafted by the United States Army where he served as a staff sergeant during World War II. He was one of hundreds of military men who lined the parade route during FDR's funeral in April of 1945. It is interesting to note that he stood guard at the gates of the White House during the somber event. Gage returned to Northwestern after the war, becoming a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and pursuing his degree in business.

Following graduation Gage joined the company his father founded, Central Surveys Inc. Gage was sent to the east coast to run the Central Surveys office in New York City. Upon his return he met the love of his life Rita Zimmerman. The couple was blessed with two daughters, Sarah and Natalie.

Gage was a master of vocabulary and taught his daughters to arm themselves with a great lexicon and to speak with conviction. He also instilled in them a love of learning, explaining that the doors out of the classroom opened to a world ripe for adventure and discovery. Gage also taught his girls to love all of God's creations particularly animals; at one point the Parker menagerie consisted of 3 dogs,
4 cats, 5 goldfish, 27 guppies and one horse.

Gage was a tremendous craftsman even building a train, which he pulled behind his lawn tractor, for Sarah, Natalie and all their friends. Many, now grown, children of a certain age will remember feeling giddy when they heard the clanging of the train's bell as it came down the street. They anxiously waited at the curb for the train to pull up and Engineer Gage to yell, "All aboard!"

Gage thrived on life-long relationships. He had a plethora of friends in Shenandoah and across the globe. His world-wide travel, his companies Central Surveys and Central Travel Service, as well as, the myriad of the exchange students to which the Parker's opened their home solidified this. These stateside and international friendships offered him the opportunity to enjoy conversations, with countless people thereby learning about numerous cultures.

Although he moved to Lincoln in 2005 to live with his daughter, Sarah, Gage always considered Shenandoah, IA his home. He loved Shenandoah. He was active in the Shenandoah Chamber of Commerce, the First Presbyterian church, St. Mary's Catholic church, Southwest Iowa Theatre Group and the American Legion. Gage was one of the leaders of the Shenandoah Centennial celebration. He sat on the Shenandoah library board for more than 25 years. Gage and Ed May spearheaded the fundraising campaign to construct the Wirsig-Jones Auditorium. He was instrumental in building the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital. He was one of the founders of the Wassail Bowl more than 67 years ago.

Gage was especially proud of his granddaughter Alisha (Ivan Rojas) and his great granddaughters, Elena and Everly. They, with his daughter Sarah, many friends and relatives, are left to cherish the memory of the wit and wisdom that was Gage. He was proceeded in death by wife Rita, daughter Natalie and as friend Susan Sand wrote to Sarah, "I bet there was a train full of relatives and friends waiting for the Engineer in heaven."

Per Gage's wishes, his body was donated to science. A service will be held for his Lincoln friends Saturday, April 28th, 2 pm in the Chapel at the Southlake Village Care Center, 9401 Andermatt Drive, Lincoln, NE.
A celebration of Gage's amazing life will take place in his beloved Shenandoah later this summer. Memorials can be made to the Shenandoah Public Library or the First Presbyterian Church in Shenandoah

She was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, enjoyed her time gardening, playing golf, helping her husband and kids on the farm, and coaching multiple student-athletes in cross-country, volleyball and basketball. Her most precious moment was seeing her first grandson Coen grow up in the latter years of her life. She will be remembered for her strong will, passion to help others, tremendous work ethic, and love for her family.
She is survived by her husband Bruce, daughter Abbey (Kevin) Mumford of Littleton, CO, Josh (Jillian) Williams of Waukee, IA, Aaron Williams of Villisca, IA, and grandson Coen Mumford.
