Jane Perry-Spencer and her husband Wallace A. Spencer came in a wagon train to Osceola County in 1871 and homesteaded land there. They had five small children already and Jane gave birth to the first white male child born in Osceola County, Frank Wallace Spencer, in Nov. 1871 at Gowey. Contributed by Darlene Garrity
