ASHTON PILOT DIES IN ACTION
Killed January 1, 1945, Over England, Parents Are Notified

Sibley, Ia. Special: A War Department message has notified Mr. and Mrs. Al Schneider of Ashton of the death of their only son, Lt. Marvin G. Schneider, 19, who was killed in action over England, January 1.

Lt. Schneider, who was a co-pilot on a B-24 bomber, received his training at Lubbock, Tex., Randolph field, Tex., and at Mountain Home, Idaho.

On August 5, 1944, he was married to Miss Emma Richter at Ashton. His wife accompanied him to Idaho, where he took his B-24 training.

He left for overseas service November 17, arriving in England early in December. His last letter written home was dated December 30.

Lt. Schneider was graduated from high school at Ashton in May, 1942, and entered the Army in March, 1943.

He is survived by his wife, his parents, two sisters, Mrs. Harold Meester, LaJunta, Colo., and Sister Mary Brandan, Pocahontas, Ia.
