[2016}According to Charlene, O’Brien County Naturalist, this statement, from the O'Brien and Osceola County History, 1914, is not accurate. “but Old Dutch Fredt be under here und his heart beat shust like udder mans," lies buried in a lonely grave on his homestead claim, unmarked and soon, perhaps, unknown.”
According to Charlene Old Dutch Fred was moved from his original burial site by his friends. He was at the bottom of the hill but when the river changed course they were afraid it would wash his site out so they moved him uphill to his current location, still on his property, and he does have a marked grave site. She does not know the exact location of the original burial site.
