ADAMS    

    William Walter Adams was born in December 1873 at Bradford, Ill., the son of Alfred Adams, Sr. and Harriett M. Hallcock Adams.  He married Charlotte (Lottie) Thompson, daughter of James H. and Eliza J. Thompson, at Pilot Grove, Elliott, Iowa in 1896. They lived in the Elliott and Griswold area, where they farmed. Their children were: William Earl (deceased 1900); Eva, b. 1898; Martha, b. 1900; Walter, b. 1903; Russell, b. 1905; Hattie, b. 1908; Robert, b. 1910; Ross, b. 1912; Roxy, b. 1914.

    In December 1960, they observed their 64th wedding anniversary.  He died Dec. 19, 1960. She died Dec. 30, 1960. They are buried at the Red Oak Cemetery.  They are survived by 8 children, 18 grandchildren, and 39 great grandchildren. 9 grandsons served in the Armed Services.
