The wedding will take place Saturday, January 21, 1949 in the Osage Methodist Church.

ANNOUNCE ENGAGEMENT OF OSAGE GIRL

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Tubbs of Osage have announced the engagement of their daughter, Joan, to William W. Kenney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. H. Kenney of Osage, Iowa. No date has been set.

Wednesday evening Verna Muller and Mrs. W.E. Stalker honored Miss Tubbs at an announcement party at the Stalker home. About 16 guests were present.

Dr. and Mrs. Herman A. Runkle of Toledo, Iowa, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Dorothy, to Charles John Biedermann of St. Ansgar. The wedding will take place Saturday, February 5, 1949.

The announcement was made at a dinner party for 24, given by the bride elect's mother on Friday evening at the Hotel Toledo.

Miss Runkle is a graduate of Coe College, Cedar Rapids, and received her master's degree from Columbia University. She taught school at Osceola for several years and for the past few years has been employed in the office of Benson and Runkle, abstracters in Toledo.

MELSON-GANDY NUPTIALS
TOOK PLACE NOVEMBER 27

Mrs. Christina Melson of Osage, Iowa, has announced the marriage of her daughter, Edna, to William Gandy, stationed in the U.S. Navy in Oakland, Calif. The ceremony was performed at Reno, Nevada, November 27 at a Lutheran parsonage.

Mrs. Gandy is a former Osage girl, having worked in the Daylight store and Melson's grocery. The past year she has been a government employee at Oakland, Calif.

Mr. Gandy graduated from the Bloomfield high school and attended the Colorado State college at Colorado Springs, Colorado. He spent four years in the U.S. marines and is now taking a 42-week course in electronics on Treasure Island. He will complete this course in March and will then go overseas. Mrs. Gandy plans to return to Osage when he goes overseas.

They include Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Pelleymounter, Mrs. Stella Barnes, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pelleymounter, Mr. and Mrs. Max Elliott, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smith, Dick and Roman Pelleymounter.

FRED BENSONS HONORED
ON GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Benson of Little Cedar were honored on their golden wedding anniversary Sunday, January 16, at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Willis Barenz, and family in Little Cedar.

The Bensons have lived their entire married lives in the Little Cedar community, farming until a few years ago when they retired to live in Little Cedar.

They have four daughters: Mrs. Willis Barenz of Little Cedar, Mrs. Vivian Doudna of Osage, Mrs. Vigo Peterson and Mrs. Adolph Hawkins of LeRoy; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

JOHNSON-TROGE

OSAGE, IOWA - June 30. - The marriage of Wilma Troge and Ingwald Johnson was held at the St. John's German Lutheran church south of Osage, the Rev. F. A. Brauer officiating. Hildegarde Troge was maid or honor and Clarice Paulson, cousin of the bridegroom, bridesmaid.

Arthur Johnson, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, and Harold Hartwig, cousin of the bride, was an usher. The wedding march was played by Gertrude Boening.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home for immediate relatives of the contracting parties. The bride, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Troge is a graduate of the Osage high school. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. John G. Johnson. They will move to the Johnson farm where Mr. Johnson will combine farming with his work as a mechanic.

Open House Plans
Made by Couple

OSAGE, IOWA - Mr. and Mrs. Ingvald B. Johnson will be feted at their home in Osage Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 in observance of their silver wedding anniversary.

Hostesses will be their two daughters Delores, a registered nurse at the Veterans Hospital, Iowa City, and Nadine, a pre-med student at the State University of Iowa. Three of their wedding attendants, Arthur Johnson, Mrs. Hans Staff and Mrs. Eddie Hein, will be present. The open house is for all friends and relatives.

Wilma Troge became the bride of Ingvald B. Johnson, June 28 1933, at St. John's Lutheran Church near Osage. Both have lived their entire lives in this county. Mr. Johnson is a decorator.

OF FUNK-PERKINS WEDDING

Lyle, Minnesota - Helen Marie Perkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randall Perkins, Lyle, became the bride of Keith Funk, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Funk, Osage, on August 13, 1947, at the Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, Iowa, the Rev. O.A. Langehough officiating.

The bride given in marriage by her father, had Betty Funk, sister of the bridegroom, as bridesmaid. Shirley Gordon, Carpenter, niece of the bride, was flower girl, and Neil Gordon, St. Ansgar, nephew of the bride, acted as ring bearer.

Attending the bridegroom was John Perkins, brother of the bride, with Robert Cordes, Osage, and Maynard Johnson, Carpenter, acting as ushers. Kathleen Cordes, Osage, played the organ.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Carpenter parish house. After a several week's trip to nothern Minnesota and Yellowstone National Park, they will be at home in St. Ansgar.

The bride was graduated from the Lyle high school. The bridegroom was graduated from the Osage high school, and served for a year and a half in the army. He is employed by the R.E.A., St. Ansgar.

DEAN LEWIS ARE WED

OSAGE, IOWA - A double-ring wedding ceremony was held Saturday afternoon when Hazel Stromley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stromley of Mona, Iowa, became the bride of Dean Lewis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lancy Lewis of Osage.

The bridesmaid, Geraldine Davidson, wore a blue floor length gown. Matron of honor was Mrs. Robert Greenwalt.

The flower girls were Andrea Solem and Karen Erdmann. Richard Penney was the ring-bearer. Clair Lewis was the best man, and Sylvan Stromley was the attendant.

Following the wedding, a reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hartley Penney.

The couple left for Louisville, Kentucky, where Mr. Lewis has a position with the Curtis Wright airplane factory, beginning Tuesday morning. He was graduated from the aeronautical engineering department at Iowa State college, friday evening prior to the ceremony.

Mrs. Lewis attended high school in Osage and had her first semester of business work at Waldorf College, Forest City, Iowa.

The marriage of Dean Lewis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lancy Lewis, Osage, and Hazel Stromley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stromley, Lyle, Minnesota, took place saturday afternoon at the Osage Lutheran Church. Rev. T.P,. Solem performed the ceremony. Clair Lewis, brother of the groom, was best man, and Sylvan Stromley, brother of the bride, was usher. Mrs. Robert Greenwalt was matron of honor; Geraldine Davidson, bridesmaid; Andrew Solem, flower girl. Mrs. Solem played the wedding march and Arnold Warren sang.

A reception followed the ceremony at the home of the bride's aunt, Mrs. H.L. Penney, where Mrs. Lewis had made her home during the time she attended Osage High School, and has been employed at the AAA offices. The groom was graduated from the engineering course at Iowa State College, Ames, Friday, and has accepted a position with the Bendix Airplane Corp., at Louisville, Kentucky.

NEW VIRGINIA - Miss Ferrill D. Shoup of Iowa City, daughter of Mrs. Berdie Shoup and Loren M. Shoup of East Moline, Illinois, was wed June 6, to James Stromley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orven Stromley of St. Ansgar. The service was at 2 p.m. in Redeemer Lutheran Church in Indianola.

The bride is an employee of the purchasing department at the State University of Iowa. Mr. Stromley is a junior there. The couple will live in Iowa City.

The St. Ansgar Catholic Church was the scene of the wedding of Janet Kline and Robert Bruesewitz, both of Rochester, Minnesota. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Agnes Kline and the late Mr. Kline, and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bruesewitz, St. Ansgar. Rev. A. Dennok officiated.

Sonja Kline, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, with Jean Kleckner and Linda Kline, also a sister of the bride, as bridesmaids. Bill Bruesewitz, brother of the bridegroom, was bestman, and Howard Fox and Jerry Kline, brother of the groom, were groomsmen.

A reception washeld at the church hall.

Both the bride and bridegroom are graduates of St. Ansgar High School, and are employed at the Mayo Clinic. The bridegroom attended St. Agnes College and Iowa State Univ.

OSAGE, IOWA - Orphie Stromley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stromley of Mona, Iowa, and Lawrence E. Erdmann of Osage, Iowa, were married at the Lutheran church of Mona by the Rev. Mr. Langehough, in the presense of immediate relatives. Attendants were the bride's brother, Orven Stromley, and the bridegroom's sister, Edna Erdmann.

Mr. and Mrs. Erdmann left after the ceremony on a wedding trip to Owatonna, and other points in Minnesota. They will live in Colorado, where Mr. Edmann has a mining position.

STACYVILLE, IOWA - Miss Adelaide Neis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Neis, and Lloyd Counsell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd COunsell, were married on June 21, 1944, at Sacred Heart church at Meyer, Iowa, the Rev. J. Schmitz officiating. Sister M. Agnelia played the organ.

The bride's sister, Rose Ann Neis, was maid of honor, and the bridegroom's attendant was William Neis.

A reception and dinner was given at the home of the bride's parents, to 75 guests.

The couple will reside on a farm where the bridegroom is enaged in farming with his father. A wedding dance was given in their honor at the Stacyville opera house.

Karen Bauer of Osage, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jeanne Fisher of Garwin, friend of the couple, and Janet Kuehne of Orchard, sister of the groom. The bride's personal attendant was Linda Guenther of Corwith, friend of the bride.

Ron Nauman of Floyd, cousin of the groom, was best man. Jay Kuehne of Orchard, brother of the groom, and Mark Squier of Osage, friend of the groom were groomsmen.

Les Kreimeyer of Hampton, cousin of the groom, and Tom Johanns of Osage, friend of the bride, were ushers.

The golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Kolhoff of Los Angeles, Calif. will be observed with an invitation dinner at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Saturday, June 21, 1986.

Mrs. Kolhoff is the former Clarice Fox, daughter of the later Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Fox who resided near St. Ansgar until retiring to Osage.

Kyle Kolhoff, formerly of Manly and Des Moines, and Clarice Fox, were married on June 26, 1936 in Los Angeles.

They are the parents of one son, Terry, an attorney in Los Angeles; and one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Janet) Quilici of Freemont, Calif.; and have three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The couple is making their home at rural Stacyville.

Hosts will be their son, Jay, and daughter, Janet, both of Orchard. Another son, Douglas and his wife, are currently in Germany.

Marlys Kreimeyer and Richard Kuehne were married on September 9, 1961 at the First United Methodist Church in Mason City. They have been farming in the Orchard area for 25 years.

LUGG TUESDAY EVENING

Miss Ida Kilts was married yesterday evening at the home of her mother, Mrs. A. E. Kilts, at the latter's home near Little Cedar, to Mr. Elza Lugg, a young man from the St. Ansgar neighborhood.

Attendants were Miss Hazel Kilts, a cousin, of Charles City, and Henry Lunde, a friend of the groom, from St. Ansgar. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Kenderdine, in the presence of about 50 relatives and friends. A two-course luncheon was served following the ceremony.

Mrs. Lugg is a Little Cedar girl, highly tought of by her friends and neighbors, and her husband bears a similar reputation in his own neighborhood. He owns a farm near St. Ansgar, where he and his bride will make their home.

Mr. and Mrs. Lugg left this morning on a week's trip to Chicago and to Aurora, Illinois, where the latter has a number of relatives, expecting to be gone about a week.

Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Featherstone of Minneapolis, relatives of the groom.

SATURDAY EVENING

Miss Irene Woodyard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Woodyard, and Paul E. Baumgartner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Baumgartner, were united in marriage Saturday evening at the parsonage of the First M.E. Church, Dr. Tollo Hurlburt, pastor, officiating.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Steninger, brothers-in-law and sister of the bride were attendants.

After a short wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Baumgartner will be at home at 710 Independence avenue. The bride has been employed in the office of the W. B. Howell printing company. The groom is a salesman for Waterloo Motor Sales Company.

Doris Jeffries married to Oliver Michaelson Thursday

Miss Doris Jeffries, youngest daughter of Mr. Clem Jeffries, Waterloo, and Oliver Michaelson, also of that place, drove up to the home of the Rev. Jennie Hitchcock last Thursday, and were quietly married. The bridal couple was attended only by her mother. Following the ceremony, Mrs. Hitchcock served a bountiful wedding dinner.

The Jeffries are former Mitchell County people, well known and respected, and for many years lived on a farm east of Osage, and near to the Hitchcocks.

Doris is a graduate of the Waterloo high school, a charming young lady, and her husband, who is a resident of Waterloo, is engaged in landscape gardening at that place, where their future home will be.

feted on silver anniversary

An open house is being planned to honor the silver wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Fossey of Lyle. The event will take place at Butch's in Carpenter, Friday, January 2, 1981, with a pork supper from 6-8 p.m. and a dance following.
