Coate, A.M.,

 

 

                                      Quarry; dealer in grain, agricultural implements, coal, etc.; is also Justice of the Peace, which office he has held for eight years; born Oct. 14, 1839, in Miami Co., Ohio; came to Iowa Co., Iowa, with his parents in 1853, and from there to this county in 1859. Was married to Alice Jones Sept. 29, 1861; she was born in Miami Co., Ohio, in 1842, and died July 27, 1868. He was again married to Lavina Bacon, Nov. 27, 1870; she was born in April, 1845, in Lycoming Co., Penn.; have four children—Lora M., by first wife, and Cresswell A., Albertus B. and Harriet by second wife. Member of the Christian Church; Republican.
