1. Wife Julia Barrow was daughter of David and Maria Barrow. David, born Kentucky, after some years in Missouri, moved to Monroe Township, Madison County, Iowa 1852. 

2. Alfred Brittain's parents - His parents moved to Kansas and are buried there. Alfred Brittain came to Iowa from Missouri in 1854, took land in Madison County where he farmed during his lifetime. A granddaughter Mrs. Clark is now living on the old home place.

3. Graves Registration names also children: Robert, Stephen, Mrs. J. F. Ringenberg
