"The Regenberg name is dead, I will never know anything, and when I should have been listening, I wasn't."
It was those words that Jean Wigdahl's mother had said several times that motivated her to begin research on her Regenberg family.
"My mother literally knew nothing about her family's past. Her father, Herman Regenberg, Jr., died from cancer when she was only 13 years old. His father, Herman Sr., died from pneumonia when Herman, Jr. was only 4 years old and his mother, Augusta (Justyna?) died when he was only 11."
Jean started her research while in high school. She spent forty years compiling the family history you are about to have the pleasure of viewing.
Says Jean, "I feel that it is important to share our family history. Historical data is interesting, but stories, photos and documents bring a tree to life. I wish my mother was still here to see what I've found.
As time passes by and as I dig more deeply into this family tree, I hope to find more pictures, information, etc. I am of the firm belief that the information is there and that the puzzle can be pieced together. Hopefully the answers to all of the mysteries will be found; descendants located.
I sincerely hope that if you find mistakes, or can add information by submitting pictures, documents, stories, legends, etc. that you will contact me. I will, in turn, keep these books up to date and share them."
