LYON COUNTY GENEALOGY
DENTISTRY
The first dentist to locate in Lyon County was C.C. Bradley, M.D., who came from Stillman Valley, Illinois, in 1880. He practiced his profession and worked at dentistry as a side issue. In 1883 Dr. J.J. Grout, of Spafford, New York, located here. He bought out Dr. Bradley and succeeded to his practice. Dr. Grout is a graduate of Chicago College of Dental Surgery, and is in practice here at the present time. In 1894 Drs. Noble and Kinnan located here in the Cassidy Block, remained two years and was succeeded by Dr. A. Haynes Kirby, who practiced here until the spring of 1903, when he removed to Los Angeles, California.
In September, 1902, Dr. J.E. Roth, a graduate of Iowa City, and Dr. J.J. Maloney, a graduate of Chicago College of Dental Surgery, located here and are in active practice at the present time. Dr. Roth has his office in the Union Block and Dr. Maloney in the Mulhall Block.
