Section -1- Greene 78 township, Range 9; - Located east of Holbrook. 
inside Johnson County - settlements on Old Black Diamond Trail.

History
Page 709 (Iowa History 1881) In fall of 1840 Mr. McKray came from State of
Penn. settled in 1840 summer Misfortune soon came upon him-the first 
of which was the death of his wife; fire destroyed his fence and other 
property (p. 710). He married and removed to Keokuk Co, and died there 
about 30 years ago. (1881)- 

The first death was that of the wife of James McKray which happened in 
the fall of 1842 and was buried just east of his house in section - 1


The 1850 Census of Green township lists: Festus McKray age 28 farmer 
born Penn, with wife Lidia A. age 20 born Indiana, and Eliza J. age -3- 
and Mary E. age 5 months born in Iowa.

Section 6 - Greene 78 Township, Range 9 - Located west of Holbrook.

History
Given by Margaret Wagner: Buried here a great grand father of her husband 
brought over from English Section 12. In St. Bernards Cemetery English 
township in the Bushman lot appears listing of Herman Feldevert died June 
28, 1856 age 40 yrs. 5m0. 27 da. The grave of Herman Feldevert had a fence 
around at the time in Section 6 in Green, and family members are of the 
opinion that it was not moved, and possibly other graves existed here also.
