SLOAN, Allan L. 1928 - 2001

WAUCOMA - Allan L. Sloan, 82, Waucoma died June 28,. 2001 at New Hampton Care Center.

A Funeral Mass was held at 10:30 a.m. on July 2 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Waucoma with Rev. Marvin Salz as celebrant and Diane Neuzil as lector.

Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waucoma. Pallbearers were Rick Bodensteiner, John Paul Neuzil, Patrick Neuzil, Jeff Frieden, Danny Huber, Rod Collins, Paul Hauer and Jim Moss.

Visitation was held Sunday, July 1 with a 4 p.m. Rosary Society Rosary ana a 6 p.m. Scripture Service.

Allan was born Aug. 31,1928 in Fairbank, the son of Leo and Fidellis (Woods) Sloan. He graduated from Waucoma High School in 1946. Allan served in the United States Navv from 1946 until 1949. He then farmed near Watucoma for many years and also drove school bus for theTurkey Valley School District for 30 years before retiring in 1993. He entered the New Hampton Care Center in August of 2000. Allan enjoyed attending the American Legion and V.F.W. meetings, reading and being with his family.

Survivors include four sisters, Mary (Edmund) Hauer, St. Lucas, Gerri Bodensteiner, O-sage, Ruth (John) Neuzil, Charles City and Jane (Leo) Huber, Davenport; two brothers, John (Maggie) Sloan, Waucoma and David (Bernie) Sloan, Scottsdale, AZ and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents.
