Raymond L. Koebrick, 68, rural ^Charles City, died Saturday, June 3 at the Ninth Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 6 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Charles City, with Rev. Dennis D. Niezwaag and Rev. Mark A. Anderson officiating.

Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City, with raveside military honors con-ucted by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.

Visitation was Monday, June 5 and Tuesday morning, June 6 at Fullerton Plage Funeral Home, Charles City, and also at the church an hour prior to services.

Raymond LaVern Koebrick was born March 4, 1932 on the family farm in rural Charles City, the son of Alfred and Gertrude (Lange) Koebrick. Following his education, Ray entered the U.S. Army. He served during the Korean War, attaining the rank of Platoon Sereeant. Pie returned to Charles City following his honorable discharge. On Aug. 5, 1956, Ray married Colleen Anderson at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City. The couple made their home on a farm where Ray raised a dairy herd, was a Cargill Seed dealer and did custom combining, plowing and hay baling. He also worked for Mayhew Electric and was instrumental in the wiring of the new addition to the Chanes City Junior High School. Ray served on the Board of Directors of the Floyd County Farm Bureau, was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1011. He was a former member of the VFW Post #3914 and the American Legion Shannon Wilson Post #174.

Surviving are his wife, Colleen, Charles City; a son, Doug (Donna) Koebrick, Charles City; a daughter, Kathy (Jerry) Chatfield, Floyd; five grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Gertrude Koebrick, Charles City; a nephew whom he raised, Don (Shelly) Koebrick Jr.; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his father and two brothers, Donald and Eldon Koebrick.
