Services held for Marjorie Griffin, 95

Marjorie Griffin, 95, of Humboldt, formerly of Mclntire, died May 19, 2000 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital in Humboldt. Funeral services were Tuesday, May 23, at the United Methodist Church in Mclntire with the Rev. Edythe Hill officiating. Burial was in Wayne Cemetery at Mclntire.

Marjorie VanDeWalker, the daughter of Warren and Mayme (Fessenden) VanDeWalker, was born at Mclntire. She attended school there and in 1921 was united in marriage to Elmo Griffin. The couple made their home most of their married lives in Mitchell County, mostly in the Mclntire area. In May of 1988, they moved to Humboldt to be near their two sons. Mr. Griffin passed away in April 1995 and she continued to make her home at the Long Term Care Unit of the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital in Humboldt. She passed away there on May 19 at the age of 95.

Mrs. Griffin is survived by two sons, Robert of Dakota City, Chester of Ames, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband Elmo, her parents, one sister, six brothers, one grandson, and one great-grandson.
