Magdalen ’Maggie" Freund, 85

Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Magdalen "Maggie" Freund, 85, Adams homemaker, who died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.

The Rev. Fr. Gregory Leif officiated. Interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Adams.

She was born Aug. 14, 1915 at Johnsburg, Minneosta and graduated from Adams High School. She worked in Austin a short time and married Stephen Freund Sept. 28, 1938 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg. They lived in St. Ansgar and Meyer, Iowa before moving to Adams in 1952.

A homemaker, she enjoyed cooking and baking. She also gardened, did crafts and liked shopping for antiques. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Kenneth (Nancy) of Gallatin, Tenn., and Dennis (Judy) of Lake Forest, Calif.; three daughters, Mary (William) Colter, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Judy (Kevin) Underdahl, Vista, Calif., and Rita (Gene) Miller, LeRoy. Also 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Leonilla Younker, Armella Mullenbach, Mary Ann Mullenbach and Ida Winkels, all of Adams, and a brother, Otto (Marcella) Mullenbach, Austin.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Adams Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
