Leona Winer Fesenmeyer, age 87, of Osage died Thursday, November 2, 2000 at the Faith Lutheran Nursing Home, Osage, Iowa. She was born June 7, 1913 in Stacyville, daughter of John and Bessie (Hawkins) Winer. Leona lived her younger years in Stacyville and the Little Cedar area. She was united in marriage to Lynn Reynolds Fesenmeyer on February 3, 1932. They farmed in the Mclntire and Riceville area most of their married life. Lynn passed away April 1, 1965. Leona was a hot lunch cook for the Mclntire and Riceville Schools for 30 some years.

Funeral services were Saturday, Nov, 4, at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with Mr. Gary Gilbert officiating. Interment was at Riverside Cemetery in Riceville.

Leona is survived by four daughters: Audrey Green of British Columbia, Canada, Mary Betts and her husband Neil of Osage, Linda Bird and her husband Larry of Osage, and Rita Marr and her husband Emil of New Hampton; one son: James Fesenmeyer and his wife Shirley of Greene; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents, husband Lynn, a son Charles, a grandson Ward Green, two brothers and two sisters.
