LOS GATOS, CA ~ Rev. Bernard I. Brannon, S.J., 78, died Monday, Jan. 31 at Regis Infirmary, Sacred Heart Jesuit Center in Los Gatos, CA after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3 at Holy Family Parish, San Jose, CA.

Committal was on Friday, Feb. 4 at 9 a.m. at the Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.

A vigil Service was held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2 at the Sacred Heart Jesuit Center.

Father Brannon was born in Waucoma in 1921 and entered the Jesuits in 1940. His course of studies took him to Los Gatos, Spokane, WA and West Baden, IN, where he was ordained to the Priesthood in 1953. Father taught Latin, English and Religion at Loyola High School in Los Angeles and Garces Memorial High School in Bakersfield where he was also Chaplain. He was an associate pastor at parishes in Los Angeles and Phoenix and served How Family Parish in San Jose from 1972-1978 and 1989-1995. He was also involved in Engaged Encounter Weekends.

Surviving are a sister, Agnes Pardee, Waucoma; two brothers, Leonard and William, Waucoma; numerous other relatives.
