Hetland Cemetery, (aka: Rorem Cemetery, Hetland Graveyard) is located in the southern part of Hamilton County, in Scott Township, east and south of Ellsworth, Iowa. This cemetery is a Hamilton County Pioneer Cemetery.

According to the Hamilton County Land Records, Book 30, Page 111 - Peter H. and Enger Peterson deeded to the Hetland Grave Yard Association land (for the cemetery) for the consideration of $15.00. The deed was signed Feb. 1888, filed 11 Apr 1888.

(Note there are gravestones dated before this date.)

Articles of Incorporation of the Hetland Grave Yard Association 17 Feb 1888 and filed 8th day of April 1888 page 128 and 139 ---

Article I
 The name of this Incorporation shall be Hetland Grave Yard Association in the County of Hamilton and State of Iowa.
Article II
 The object of the Association shall be to purchase a suitable piece of land in Scott Township, Hamilton County, Iowa, fence, keep and maintain the same as a cemetery.
Article III
 The members of the Association shall consist of all persons who have purchased and paid for one lot of said cemetery.
Article VIII
 A certificate signed by the President and Secretary of this Association, shall be a sufficient title to the individual Lot owner of this Association.
Article X
 The following named persons below named are chosen to constitute the Board of Trustees, for present year and until the next regular meeting.
  In witness whereof, we have hereunto set our hands this 17th day of February, 1888.

Directions: Drive east of Ellsworth on state highway 175 to Young Ave. (about 3 ˝ miles). [Young Ave. is also the paved road to Roland.] Turn south on Young Ave. to 350th Street (2 miles). Turn east on 350th Street for ˝ mile. The cemetery is on the south side of the road.

The cemetery was walked and photographed August 2013 by Jackie Frederick for the Hamilton Heritage Hunters Genealogical Society. The cemetery list was transcribed from earlier cemetery listings.
