June 4th –18

Dear sister & family,

Just a line to let you know we are well and alright and I like my place fine, don’t have to work hard and I am by myself today.  The Mrs. went to town (Pt. Townsend) and I have everything done that she told me to do so all I have to do yet today is get supper, and I have that all ready to go on the stove, are going to have split pea soup.

We are well and hope the same of all you.  How are the babies, but suppose Eleonora thinks she isn’t much baby any more.  Did not get any mail today.  To [sic] much ??? [illegible].
