     Killed May 27th at the Lorraine Front. Buried in Baccarat Cemetery, Grave No. 70. Son of Mrs. Maggie Pfab, Dubuque, Iowa.  Private Pfab was gassed at Village Negre on May 27th and died in the hospital.  Private Pfab was a member of the old First Iowa and saw service on the border. He did considerable patrolling and proved to be a remarkable man in the line

      Gassed May 27, 1918 and died two days later in the hospital at Baccarat. Buried in Baccarat Cemetery, Grave No. 65. Son of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Powers, Carlisle, Iowa. Private Powers, by his daring and fearlessness in the face of danger, was recognized by his comrades as being a man who would always accomplish his task, however difficult.      He was a conscientious worker and an excellent soldier.
