       Killed September 12, 1918 at St. Mihiel near Fliery. Buried in Grave No. 14-B, Map of Pannes. Private Cox was killed in the drive at the St. Mihiel salient. I have been unable to gather the facts of his death.

        Killed September 12, 1918 at ST. Mihiel near Fliery. Buried in Grave No. 18, Map of Pannes. Relative's address, Mrs. W. D. Doty, Rochester, N.Y. Lieutenant Doty was killed by a high explosive shell while leading his men in the advance on the St. Mihiel salient. His death was instantaneous and he suffered no pain. Lieutenant Doty was a leader of men and gave his all gladly for his country. He enlisted in the Second Ambulance Corps, but was later sent to an officer's training camp and from there sent overseas.
