        Killed in action July 28, 1918 at Chateau Thierry. Son of Mrs. Ellen Mayers, Riverton, Iowa.  Private Mayers was killed while advancing. He enlisted at the outbreak of the war.

      Killed at Chateau Thierry near Epieds, July 26, 1918. Buried in Grave No. 2, Conde-en-brie. Son of Mrs. Emelia Bunyan, Keokuk, Iowa. Sergeant Bunyan was killed by shell fire while going forward in the attack on Sergy. He was a jovial, whole-hearted personage behind the lines and cool in the face of danger. Had he lived he would have been a valuable leader in the trying days that followed.
