   Killed near Camp 3/5 July 15, 1918. Buried near Suippes, Grave No. 2, Map No. 3. Son of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Thuman, Nodaway, Iowa. Private Thuman had gone through the bombardment on the night of the 14th and was in the trenches with them the 15th. He was killed instantly by shell fire when the platoon had almost reached their positions. Private Thuman was a sterling soldier

       Killed at Champagne Front July 15. Buried in Grave No. 13. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey J. Cook, Gillette, Wyoming. Private Cook was killed instantly as the company was going into the trenches. He had been serving as a stretcher bearer and was at the end of the line. He had carried wounded all night long during the bombardment of July 14th, never faltering through all the shell fire. Private Cook showed great courage and faithfulness at this work and was a willing and hard working soldier.
