The Road of Comradeship

FULL military honors were paid at the funeral of Edward H. Monahan on June 12, 1921. The illustration shows the procession approaching the Cathedral of the Epiphany, where the services were held. The escort of former comrades of Private Monahan, numbering over one thousand, marched to Mt. Calvary cemetery where the body was laid in its final resting place. Thirty-eight funerals over the bodies of Gold Stars have been conducted with full military honors by Monahan Post, in manner similar to that at the funeral of Private Monahan.
