      Wounded in action south of Solssons, receiving machine gun bullet wounds in head. Died of his wounds on the battlefield.

      Was awarded the Croix de Guerre by the French government.

      Buried in the French Cemetery in Pierrefords.

      Relative, Mrs. Charles Hand Hibben, now residing at 612 South Third Street, Norfolk, Nebraska.
