      Died of wounds received in action in the Meuse-Argonne.

      Awarded the Croix de Guerre Certificate for gallantry in action and especially meritorious service, signed by the Commander of the 1st Division and a certificate for Bravery signed by General John J. Pershing.

      Buried in the American Cemetery at Romagne - sous - Montfaucon, Meuse, France.

      Son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren W. Baker, 2823 W. Fourteenth Street, Sioux City, Iowa
