Hampton Losing Patience -
Public Library Has Stood Many Months in Incomplete Condition

Hampton, October 27 - The Carnegie public library which was donated to Hampton by Carnegie, has not yet been opened to the public. The original time set for the completion of the building was July, 1903. Month after month the people of Hampton expected the building would be opened, but its opening yet seems problematical and uncertain. The library board said that they could not get the contractor to complete it. This sufficed for some time, but for nearly a year there has been little work done upon the building and it stands in it's partially completed condition, bidding fair to outrival the famous Des Moines library before it is thrown open to the public.
