From the Dubuque Telegraph Herald dated 12/25/1925 JOSEPH PFOHL DIES AT HOME OF NEPHEWJoseph Pfohl, 89, died Christmas day of 1925, at the residence of this nephew,Peter Pfohl on the Asbury Road. He came to this country from Alsace Lorraine at theage of 5 and lived here all his life. He operated Paley's Dairy, which later becameIowa Dairy (on 22nd Street), and still later was named Meadow Gold Dairy. He alsooperated and worked as hired hand on farms about Dubuque.He is survived by one son, Anthony, of this city, one sister, Mrs. Duster ofDubuque, two daughters: Mrs. Holloway of Chicago and Mrs. Frank Casterline of LosAngeles. He son, Frank, died in California in 1910 at age 33 and is buried in LinwoodCemetery aside of his Grandfather, Antoine Pfohl.The funeral from St. Philomena's (Now Resurrection Parish) to Asbury for burial.Back to the main page.
