JESSIE GILBERT vs. WM. GILBERT is a suit for divorce. The parties were married at Leon, October l0, l897, and lived together until April 9, l900. The plaintiff alleges in her petition that her husband has been guilty of cruel and inhuman treatment of her in beating her and has threatened to kill her, and has also accused her with being intimate with other men. She asks for a decree of divorce, the custody of their fifteen months old son and $500 alimony. Marion Woodard attorney for plaintiff.
MRS. JESSIE GILBERT through her attorney, Marion Woodard, has brought suit for divorce against her husband, WM. GILBERT, on the grounds of cruel and inhuman treatment. She left her home Sunday and came to Leon with her baby. Monday morning, MR. GILBERT came to town and secured possession of the baby, taking it to the home of his parents, northeast of Leon. MRS. GILBERT and her sister, MRS. CHAS. BRIGHT, drove out the same afternoon and again secured possession of the infant, using a revolver to enforce their demand for the child. The matter will now be settled in court.
